Sahel Coach : Zesco a good team but need more experience and mental fitness

Etoile du Sahel coach Chiheb Ellili pointed out mental strength as Zesco United only weakness after the Zambian Champions played out to a one all draw with the Tunisian giants on Tuesday.

Ellili who was full of praise for Zesco United’s Tactical and technical abilities but felt they needed a bit more experience and mental fitness.

” As I said Zesco United is one of the best teams in this group even against Agosto they were winning the match until the last few minutes. Maybe they need a bit more experience and mental strength but nothing to do with physical, Tactical or technical no. It’s a very good team even before the game I said that they are one of the best teams in the group and for me I think they need to work more on mental strength,” Chiheb Ellili said in the post match press conference.

Zesco United bowed out of the CAF Champions League after a one all draw with Sahel which meant they finished with six points, three less than Angolan club Primeiro de Agosto who came out second with nine points.

This man is on point, mental strength has in most cases been the weakest point for most Zambian teams including the national team. The mental strength of our north african brothers is non comparable to most teams in Africa, hence the need to take a leaf.

How do you develop mental strength?

  6. Joe bills says:

Mental strength is developed when one improves on their confidence, perseverance, resilience or endurance in the work place, sport or other involving activities. The best place to start with is with having strong emotional intelligence, being positive & a never give up spirit. Counsellor, life coaches or motivational speaker are a good place to draw lessons on this. Hope that helps
