REFEREE CHITENGI PASSES ON
BARELY a week, before the pain of losing Leah Namukonde can even heal – another female referee Carol Chitengi has passed on.
According to a colleague referee Roderick Nga’ndu, Ms Chitengi was found dead at her home in Choma yesterday.
And FAZ coordinator in Southern Province Francis Hanfwiti said the referee died due to low BP.
Meanwhile Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga has conveyed his messages of condolences to the bereaved family.
Mr. Kamanga expressed sadness for the passing on of the FAZ Class One referee in a press statement.
“On behalf of the Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) Executive and the entire football community, I wish to convey my message of goodwill to the Chitengi family on the passing on of Ms Carol Chiengi,” said Kamanga.
The late Carol Chitengi was last week the 1st assistant referee in a FAZ Division One Zone Four match between Zesco Vic Falls and Kalomo Jetters.
The ZamFoot Crew remembers Ms Carol Chitengi as a down to earth person. A soft spoken person – a very professional referee who never lost her cool even when pushed to her limit. Above all, she was very a hardworking referee.
