Red Arrows hold Zesco to throw open title race
Log leaders Zesco United were on Thursday afternoon held to a goalless draw by visiting Red Arrows to throw the title hopes for second and third place Zanaco and Green Buffaloes open.
With Zanaco and Buffaloes having won their week 36 encounters, the gap at the top was reduced to two points and the pressure was on the Ndola side to pick maximum points to just about assure them of the title with two games to play.
But the Zambia Airforce side made it difficult for Zesco as they only managed to share spoils in a game that was cut short on Wednesday after a power failure during the evening kickoff.
The draw saw Zesco move to 70 points 3 points ahead of Zanaco and Green Buffaloes who are both on 67 points and only separated by goal difference.
Ref Arrows remain in 10th position on 49 points.
