Reaction to Patson Daka’s CAF award

The men who where there at the beginning of the wonder-boy’s fledgling career applaud the Kafue native’s achievement.

Patson Daka was joined by FAZ President Andrew Kamanga and the legendary Kalusha Bwalya in Accra, Ghana.

He scooped the award with a staggering 94 votes while second and third placed Salam Giddou and Krepin Diatta having 52 and 48 votes respectively.

And Kalusha saluted Daka’s achievement.

“Congrats to my boy Patson Daka. Started at the bottom now you are here! Keep shining and keep climbing my boy. You have what it takes to soar.

“Work hard, be focused and disciplined and God’s gift to you will flourish. Very proud of you son,” King Kalu who at the time Daka was winning his first cap was FAZ President wrote.

Former Zambia Under-17 Coach Chris Kaunda.

“Congrats to my Captain and friend Mr. Patson Daka. Psalms 91 and Acts 5 : 35 -39 . Our Lord Our God will always be with you. God bless you and all your colleagues.

” Always, just remember what I told you, your friends and the entire Africa and the world in Niger about you my friends as the Rising Stars and I still thank the Airtel / FAZ program. May Our God continue blessing our country – Zambia.

Kaunda qualified Zambia to her first major Under-17 tournament.

That class of 2015 had Daka, Enock Mwepu and arguably the most talented of the trio the late Changwe Kalale.

The late Changwe was called to senior national team in 2014 before Patson and Mwepu were even considered

Below then FAZ Communications Manager Nkweto Tembwe wrote.

Congratulations Patson ‘Jizzy Daka’ on your being named CAF Youth Player of the Year 2017……and thank you my young brother for dedicating your award to late Changwe Kalale…for us who were privileged to see the two of you at U17, we shall forever marvel at your friendship.
