The men who where there at the beginning of the wonder-boy’s fledgling career applaud the Kafue native’s achievement.
Patson Daka was joined by FAZ President Andrew Kamanga and the legendary Kalusha Bwalya in Accra, Ghana.
He scooped the award with a staggering 94 votes while second and third placed Salam Giddou and Krepin Diatta having 52 and 48 votes respectively.
And Kalusha saluted Daka’s achievement.
“Congrats to my boy Patson Daka. Started at the bottom now you are here! Keep shining and keep climbing my boy. You have what it takes to soar.
“Work hard, be focused and disciplined and God’s gift to you will flourish. Very proud of you son,” King Kalu who at the time Daka was winning his first cap was FAZ President wrote.

That class of 2015 had Daka, Enock Mwepu and arguably the most talented of the trio the late Changwe Kalale.
