Power Dynamos 1 - 1 Nkwazi Review
Power Dynamos Held By Nkwazi – Week 3 reviews.
A 1st minute Edward Chomba goal and a 44th minute equalizer from Fwayo Tembo was all the goal action at the Arthur Davis Stadium on Saturday afternoon, winning Nkwazi their 3rd consecutive draw leaving Power a tad red faced.
Power Lined up with another changed team with Chibwe, Simwala, Chungu, Mutale, Mwanambaba, Kasonde, Kampamba, Bwalya, Ngwenya, Kam, Tembo.
Govenda Simwala replaced Allan Kamwanga Jr who was ill on the day while Lawrence Chungu relaced Mwelwa Sakala hwo settled for a place on the bench.
White Mwanambaba made his first start of the season with Francis Kasonde taking up a midfield role ahead of Benson Sakala who was on the bench for the entirety of the match.
Ivorian Ferdinand Olle Kam started up front having replaced Lyson Sikaonga who had half of a game himself last week.
The Nkwazi goal came through in the first minute of play with Power Dynamos barely putting a foot on the ball before it happened, a long diagonal ball launched in between Simwala and Mutale bouncing in the box for Edward Chomba to shield and pounce on in what candidly was a great strike to beat Allan Chibwe at the far post.
Nkwazi immediately toned down the gears to slow down the fixture with hopes to rake maximum points from the game but that was all in vein when their goal keeper was left red faced after a ball into the box from first half substitute Kennedy Mudenda was bouncing towards goal while the keeper lost his footing in his race to beat an on rushing Fwayo Tembo who also missed the first ball but hit the rebound off the cross bar with a well-timed header to score the all-important equalizer.
Ivorian Ferdinand Olle Kam had his share of the ball displaying excellent ball control and retention skills but showed signs of rustiness before his eventual withdrawal at the 40th minute having been out of action since the encounter, ironically, against Nkwazi at the Edwin Imboela Stadium.
At the start of the second half Power took out Larry Bwalya who was having a hard time on the right flank and replaced him with forward Jimmy Ndlhovu who did not have the best of games out there with Power seeming to play long balls to him with a lot of space to cover to get to the goal and inadequate support around him. Jimmy got an eventual half chance on the edge of the box with a well taken volley that got blocked off impeccably to keep the scores level.
Martin Phiri was the next man to be called to action replacing an evidently Fwayo Tembo who had become visibly frustrated with the poor officiating and the freedom with which Nkwazi seemed to deploy their time wasting antics and simulation.
With all substitutions made Power threw long balls forward and everything they had at the Nkwazi back line but it was to no avail. the game ended 1-1 with Power now having 5 points on the log and Nkwazi having 3.
