Livingstone Pirates 0-0 Maramba Stars
It was an all Livingstone affair over the weekend when Pirates hosted Maramba Stars. A derby with so much expectations but it ended in the two teams sharing the spoils on sunday after both Livingstone Pirates and Maramba Stars failed to find the back of the net at Busiku grounds.
Maramba had the best chance of the first half in the 10th minute when a corner kick from Charles Chewe picked out Joe but his effort went over the bar. Charles was the creater again in the 15th minute he sent a clever pass over the side to Joshua Madala but he was under pressure and hit his shot into the defenders .
At the other end steven mwanza formerly of Maramba Stars provided a great cross that found Duane Mwikisa unmarked at the back post but his header was well saved by Chisanga Changufu. Austine had another good chance in the 40th minute when Duane sent him a killer pass but he somehow failed to make contact.
Stars had a geat chance 15 minutes into the second half a long ball into the Pirates area was layed up by captain of the side in the derby Francis Simunica who gave Joe the chance to shot at goal but the powerful strike went straight at the keeper Peter Katongo.
The peoples team had one of the best chances of the match 10 minutes from time when Charles combined with Ben Kaleza,Lemmy and back to Charles before putting Joe through on goal one on one with Chinfwembe but Joe coundn’t beat the keeper as his shot had no power in it.
With two minutes to go Austine had a chance when he cut inside from the left side to shot with his powerful left leg but he smashed it direct into Changufu’s hands. Nil nil the match ended as Maramba Stars continued their poor run of five games without a win.
