Patson Daka opens Bundesliga account in Salzburg win
Patson Daka opened his Austrian Bundesliga goal scoring account when he helped side Red Bull Salzburg to a 2 – 0 win over Austria Wien as his team maintained a winning start to the season.
Daka was named in the starting eleven while his country man Enock Mwepu started on the bench.
The 19 year old was only making his second appearance for Salzburg this season with three games played and he got on the mark in the 38th minute when he pounced on a through ball from his strike partner Moanes Dabbour to finish with great technique for the first goal.
Dabbour wrapped up the victory with a goal in the 77th minute.
Mwepu was introduced in the 83rd minute of the game.
The victory leaves Salzburg on top of the log with three wins in three games.
Daka made only 8 appearances for Salzburg last season mostly from the bench as he was left to develop with the team’s developmental side but he has now been moved to the main team together with Mwepu.
