Patson Daka opens 2019/20 season with cup goal
Patson Daka was on target for his Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg when they thumped second tier side Parndorf 7 – 1 in the First Round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup.
In what was Salzburg’s first competitive game of the 2019/20 season, Daka was named in the starting line up while Mwepu started in the bench.
Salzburg were cruising to victory and leading 3 – 0 at half-time with goals from Minamino, Haaland and Farkas.
The 20 year old Zambian striker added the fourth 2 minutes after the restart but he was over-shadowed by his strike partner Haaland who went on to complete a hat-trick with right back Farkas adding a second.
Salzburg will play Rapid Wien in the opening match of the Austrian Bundesliga next Friday before engaging Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge five days later om 31st July, 2019.
