Patson Daka declared fit for Iran game

Zambia U20 national team striker Patson Daka will be fit to play tomorrow against Iran after an injury that saw him substituted in the first half of the group C opener against Portugal.

The teen striker who has the most caps and senior team level in the ‘dream team’ was stretchered off the pitch with blood in his mouth after a collision when he challenged for the ball.

But team doctor Mwila Lupasha has said the lad will be fit for the game after he joined his colleagues in training on Monday.

“The treatment started yesterday. Today, he is feeling much better and we wanted to assess him to see how he is doing in the training and be ready for Wednesday’s game,” Dr Lupasha told Fazfootball.

“From what I have assessed, he should be ready for the game.”

He also said that Conlyde Luchanga who had a minor abrasion on his rear was fit for selection.

“Luchanga had a small wound on the buttock. We had to dress him before the match, but the dressing came off so that’s the blood you saw,” he said.

The two strikers led Zambia’s attack against Portugal though they were both substituted.

They are expected to start against Iran.

Zambia play Iran in a game that kicks off at 1000hrs.

  1. Good news for Zambians. Atleast PD has the force we need to frustrate the opponents hence scoring. We are now assured of qualifying with the game to spare. BOLA NA LESA.

  2. Luchanga should not start….He should be a super sub. …PD must start with Emmanuel Banda in midfield …..We should be looking to slaughter the Gihadists ….Iran. ….Bola na Lesa

    • I agree, Emmanuel Banda makes the mid look good and easy. His passes with his left foot destabilizes opposing teams, heck he can score too, nothing against Luchanga who looked good against Portugal, but lets go in with a team that gives us an outright chance to win the game with authority.

  3. Go Go mwebana besu keep up with the same confidence you have been exhibiting. According to what I saw, the way Iran played on Sunday, if you stick to your usual game standards we should win by at least 4:0…..

  4. When did Soccer -ingulu change to support the team? He is waiting for something to go negative again! God bless Zambia!

  5. Not wanting to look too far ahead yet, but finishing 1st will offer a much tougher draw as we’d come up against France in the quarters.

2nd place plays 2nd in England’s group, then the winner of South Africa’s group.

    • We need to play the very best to really test our abilities…we African Champions, we aren’t easy to beat…bring on the European Champions France, that’s a game to watch!!!
