Nyirenda turns to foreign based players for Cosafa
Wedson Nyirenda has drafted in three foreign based players in the Chipolopolo squad that is currently camp ahead of the Cosafa Cup quarter final match against Botswana on Saturday as pressure continues to build for him to produce positive results.
Wada Wada has called the South African trio of Rodrick Kabwe of Ajax Capetown, Salulani Phiri of Polokwane City and Mwape Musonda who plays for Black Leopards.
The initial squad only had U20 international Emmanuel Banda as the only foreign based player in the team but he has pulled out of the team as he looks to settle in Belgium with his new club KV Oostende.
However, there is has been a change in position on the technical bench who have reached a decision to rope in the three with Kabwe and Salulani both having been part of the team that lost 1 – 0 to Mozambique in the Africa Cup qualifier.
Salulani only played part of the first half.
