Numba not worried about U20 loss to Zanaco

Zambia U20 National team head coach Numba Mumamba is unconcerned with his team’s loss at the hands of Sensational Zanaco. Numba said the Match was meant to assess the players readiness to represent Zambia at the tournament.

The young Chipolopolo came up short when they met super league defending champions Sensational Zanaco who put five goals past their goalkeeper.

” The result does not matter to us . Today was about assessing who is ready to play in the first team and represent the country at the tournament,” Numba told Zambianfootball.co.zm

Nkwazi youngster Lameck Banda joined camp yesterday and had his first training session today much to the delight of his coach.

” Its is a morale boaster to have Prince and Lameck in the team. Lameck is one of the players we rely on upfront” he said

” Training is going on well, That’s why we thought of giving them a friendly against Zanaco. To see if they can withstand the pressure. If they can stand the pressure from Zanaco then it will be easier once they face an U20 opponent,” he added.

The Young Chipolopolo will meet the Ugandans in their tournament opener at the Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on December 6.

  1. Still More, five zero is too !much, can’t you fuse in the likes of shemmy Mayembe, sakulanda and may be the goal keeper Magani Banda?

  2. @TC Soccerman i feel compelled to defend Numba,he is not a useless coach he is actually a better tactician than beston if you watch the local league u would agree.Did you noticed how he steered Zanaco in the CAF Champions League despite having a mass exodus of players.Lets Judge him after the tournament

    • Well observed @Sade, May I just add that Numba was in fact playing against himself and while ZANACO is fully drilled in Numba’s tactics the U20 are reading up. Thus U20 will be as good as ZANACO by the time tournament starts.

  3. Mangani Banda, Shemmy Mayembe, Prosper ‘Evra’ Chiluya, Moses Nyondo, Solomon Sakala, Boyd Musonda, Enock Mwepu, Emmanuel Banda, Edward ‘Tiger’ Chilufya, Patson ‘Papa’ Daka & Fashion Sakala. Zanaco can’t survive. Trust me.

  4. Haha! You guys are at it again. I just can’t believe you choose to suggest that the team is not good. Are you not the same people who could not see anything good with Patson Daka when all national team coaches summoned himm to camp in those very early days he had the Chipos. Remember my words “you will judge him when he plays against his age mates”. Today, I guess he is known in every corner of your country. The loss the U20 suffered at the hands of Zanaco does not make the team useless. Neither is its coach. In fact most of the comments we make following the loss are empty. The coach learns nothing from them. What we ought to look at at this juncture are critical performance aspects of the team. We must be analysing how balanced the team is. A few things to look at can include the following: physical strength( physique – body size and height), speed, cohesion.

    Goodmorning Zambia
