Head coach Numba Mumamba has hinted on addition of new player to the Zambia U20 National team before they start preparing for the U20 Africa Cup of nations.
Numba’s new look Zambia U20 National team lost their opening game of the 2017 Cosafa U20 Championships starting their title defence on a rather unfortunate note.
“The last U20 winning the AFCON does not put me under pressure because the team i have is comprised if the U17 national team who did very well at U17 level but we need to give them chance. As we start preparing for AFCON we can fuse in a few players but for this tournament we thought of using the U17 national team because we want them to progress,” Numba said
The sensational Zanaco tactician still has hope of his team progressing to the next round.
“We still have two more games to play before the end of group matches so we still a good chance to qualify but we must apply ourselves well to pick up maximum points in the two games,” Numba said.
Numba was also quick to praise his opponents saying they were the better team.
” They played well from the start of the game. We must give credit were it’s due. They were better than us, Numba said.
Uganda’s Muhammad Shaban scored a second half brace to silence hosts Zambia in a game that ended 2 – 0 at Kitwe’s Arthur Davies Stadium.
Never give up boys, become like a wounded buffalo in next game.
We make sure we win the last two games, the batter.
Viva Zambia!!!!!!!!
Young Bullets you can redeem yourselves. We are behind you come rain come sunshine. Topstar has dispointed me, why not show the matches? Kwese is far much better than the latter. Masobela I will throw your ka useless decoder, I enjoyed a long time ago that snake in monk shadow you showing us instead of showing us the COSAFA which is on our soil bamambala.
Kikikkikik,.am laughing at zambian Buffalo’s comment on top star.
Young boys never say die until the final whistle.
The lads still have chance to pick themselves up, fight and conquer. the only thing they don’t have now is room for error.
Encouraging comments from faithful chipolopolo folowers.Thats the way to go.Go boys.Remember we developing another under 20.
All the best in next game.
The young lads can still do it
let us wait and see how they apply themselves in the next two games. we need to fuse in new under 20 players not these u17 only. call back the 2016 u20 who qualify to play for for the team. surely as much as we need to develop not at this stage very disappointing.
I guess not all is lost but I’ve lost the confidence i had in these lads looking at how they performed in Madagascar, you’re better than this guys come on.
if my memory serves me right, Zambia has used the u17 for u20 cosafa before.I remember mangani Banda in that team, lubambo was there too.they were booted out at group stage. the remnants of that team won us the last u20. I’m not happy with the loss but building is a process
