No need to go back to the drawing board, we have the cure says Kamanga

FAZ President Andrew Kamanga has assured the nation that Football House has a long term plan that cures set backs like the disaster in Burundi.

With a 1-0 lead from the first leg a week ago, the Zambia Under-20 surrendered that lead as the capitulated in Ngozi and lost 3-0 in the secokd leg of the final round of the Niger 2019 CAF U20 African Cup of Nations.

Kamanga moved quickly to calm down the nerves and posted a message on his Facebook page.

“The Zambia Under 20 has lost to Burundi today (Sunday) ending our hopes of defending the Afcon in Benin (Niger),” Kamanga wrote

In the past whenever there have been a bad result, the association will always say that they will conduct a postmortem but this time, Football House will not go that route as Kamanga claims there s a plan in place.

“Theres no drawing board to go back to as we have a long term plan that cures our under performance at all levels of National Soccer Team,” added Kamanga.

While it will be argued that the class of ’17 had a solid foundation compared to this current Junior Chipolopolo, Kamanga has again assured the nation that FAZ has a solid foundation being laid to ensure that Zambia doesn’t suffer lack of progression in future assignments.

“A solid foundation is continually being laid to ensure Zambia’s future remains bright for a sustainably longer period by constantly developing our game from the grassroots.

“While the result today is regretable, I have a lot of faith in our football development agenda.

With the Zambia’s failure to qualify to Niger to defend their title, attention and focus shift to Mauritius where the Zambia Under-17 are taking part at the on going Cosafa U17 Championship.

  1. LESSONS WELL LEARNT BWANA KAMANGA! HOW DO YOU DECIDE TO COMPLETELY OVERHAUL A TEAM AND ELEVATE THE WHOLE OF THE 2017 UNDER 20 TEAM TO UNDER 23? DOES IT MEAN THAT ALL OF THEM ARE OVER 20 AT THE SAME TIME? NO I DONT THINK SO.

  2. Long term plan???? You just gave the new national team coach a very very short contract and nonsensical performance measurement, to qualify for Afcon. That in itself shows that you have no long term plans. An eight month contract shows no long term foresight.

You are slowly beginning to make Kalu look like he was an amazing administrator by being worse than him.

  3. Organise a friendly with Brazil sir. Or Japan. Kalu won Afcon and fought to host U-20 championship. If you are to succeed grassroots. But time is running out. Or tell CEC to build Power a stadium.
