No deal for Walter as he watches Algers from the stands
Nkana striker Walter Binene Bwalya yesterday watched from the stands as his suitors MC Alger beat Biskra 2 – 0 on Saturday.
Despite having stated that he was in Algeria to sign a contract with the country’s Champions League envoy’s a Zambianfootball.co.zm source in Algeria has indicated that no deal has been reached yet but negotiations are still ongoing.
The 2016 Zambia Super Division top scorer arrived in Algeria earlier on Thursday and made his intentions clear on arrival.
“I have come to sign for MC Algers as I already agreed terms,” the talented striker said.
In agreeing with the assertions by Nkana President Evaristo Kabila, a source from Algeria stated that there has been no deal signed yet.
“There are still items that need to be agreed, but negotiations are still ongoing with the President,” he stated.
MC Algers broke ties with Nigerian striker Barnabas Imenge and are keen on bringing in Bwalya who scored 12 goals in a season which was ladden administrative controversy over his nationality.
“I gave up three months of my wages to reach a settlement with the club administration. I admit I didn’t give everything I had to this team due to circumstances that made me fail to adapt to this country. Yet I thank the fans for their support,” imenge said last week.
Nkana on the other hand have stated that they are not looking at selling their prized assert to the North Africans after previous experiences of Zambian players in the North leagues but will be looking at Europe.
