Nkana want a record transfer fee for Walter Bwalya

MTN Super League side Nkana will only allow red hot striker Walter Bwalya Binene if the money is right for both parties, Zambianfootball.co.zm understands.

According to the ZamFoot Crew sources in Kitwe’s Wusakile’s township, the Kalampa executive want a minimum of $300, 000 for the former Forest Rangers striker.

The left footed hitman entered the history books after he won the golden boot  with 24 goals this year. And his exploits in front of goal hasn’t gone unnoticed as several clubs on the continent and Europe are after his signature.

On the local scene, big spenders duo Zanaco and Zesco United are also suitors but it is the likes of ETP Mazembe, Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Zamalek and Al Ahly that are likely to be his destination.

It is also believed that Walter is ambitious and is favouring a move to Europe but the only hitch is that Euro clubs want him to attend trials but Nkana just want a outright purchase.

“Remember the stories of Knowledge Musona and Collins Mbesuma. Euro clubs paid a lot of money for them and took a risk [signed them without trials] but ended failing to make the grade,” a ZamFoot Crew source.

South of the equator, Walter is regarded highly and has been compared to Musona and Mbesuma. In a calendar year, only Mbesuma has a better record of 25 goals that the 24 year old.

Zanaco fans will claim that had it not been for injuries, Patrick Kabamba could have broken Mbesuma’s record at Kaizer Chiefs after the Congolese born striker hit a staggering 20 goals in 20 games in 2009 prompting former Chipolopolo Boys coach Herve Renard to push the Football Association of Zambia, FAZ to get him a Zambian passport.

With Walter, who started his career in Congo with Lubumbashi Sports and also had a spell with Don Bosco, before he joined ‘Fole Malembe’ in 2012 before he guided them to promotion in 2014, there has also been a similar campaign from the Chipolopolo faithful his inclusion.

  3. If walter bwalya is not a real zambian lets nt rash him to de national team we ve talent in zambia lets just pray to God he is de one who gives every good nd perfect thing.

  4. This guy is half zambian and half congolese hence for, he is eligible to play for zambia but the problem that we have in zambia are our administers in football who are so dull.during the campaigns they promise us that the selection of players will be on merit but here is a player who has scored 24goals in the league and yet he is not called to the national team and some fools are say kamanga is on the right track which right track kamanga is failure the earlier you realize this the better for our football

  5. Walter bwalya has said that he is read to play for the zambian national team and this guy has our green national regetration card.yes some people may say no kamanga is not the one who is selecting the players its the coach but he should sitt down with the coach and discuss which play should be selected and which play should not be selected that what good administered do not just folding the hands and watch

  6. The issue of walter its an adminstration one.. The current national team coach has no flexible mind.. And he is too small to coach zambia. His appointment it was a mockery to whole football fraternity. That was an act of desperation. We need a coach who is academic who had foresight.. Faz will never make an effort as long this does not like the player.. Walter said he is ready to play for zambia but all national team coaches continue to snub him..

  7. It’s Kalu who want to make money from him??????????? Freaks, i have counted only four posts so far; soon they will populate this space with Kalu this and kalu that.

  8. I blame FAZ and the coaching for snubbing Walter Bwalya. Why is that the coaches only prefer Zesco and Zanaco players even when we have performing players from Nkana, Power and other teams?

  9. Billy is right/ its only after walter leaves for congo then will they start thinking “oh we should have signed him up”. play a friendly or two in January and get him on our books.

    • I hope he makes the grade at Ajax Cape Town. This is probably the best developmental club in the PSL but Rodrick is already at his peak. Hopefully we can have another Zambian lighting up the PSL again.

  10. Isn’t it a bit funny how we as fans are so quick to blame the FAZ executive even for things that we have totally no clue as to how FAZ are handling the situation.

  11. Daylight robery , walter bwalya was suppose to be crowned footballer of the yr in zambia not that ziyo tembo he costed chipolopolo in cameroon and he is not exceptional. A very stiff player and he has no price tag. He is overrated for nothing..

  12. My thought as well. I watched that Cameroon match in Limbe…Ziyo Tempo is a “plank”. Zero agility and the way he got schooled by the Cameroon forward whereby he wad cluttering the turf with no control of his hands which resulted in the handball and subsequent penalty. Zambia defense is suspect and has been a constant worry for me. The goals are scant which also brings me the Walter Bwalya Binene issue. We need to be scoring more goals as insurance

  13. Chipolopolo team skipper r kalaba made it in top three of african based players footballer of three .. Together with khama billiat and ugandian goal keeper..

  14. Reinford kalaba have been nominated in top three . Their is a high posibility that he might be crowned african footballer of the yr of african based players.. He is the most decorated player and he did everything he could for tp mazembe and the national team..

  15. Walter is Congolese full stop those who old enough remember the Mathew “papa”kamwashi so do not just talk rubbsh here like you know much

  16. Binene Bwalya can join Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. any day only if he is ready for top club football, talent alone is not enough in a big club like Sundowns. High work ethics, ambition, and the right attitude are some of the ingredients you need to succeed at Sundowns….

  17. I so Walter on bola yapa zed saying dat he z Zambian tho he got he’s education in congo dad z Zambian n mummy z Congolese n he z ready to play for chipololpolo very soon there r jst some paperwork been done dat r delaying which they r working on dats wat Walter said in his own words…
