Nchanga out of relegation as Zanaco, Buffaloes pile pressure on leaders Zesco
Brave Nchanga Rangers came from behind to beat fellow relegation threatened Mighty Mufurila wanderers in a tightly contested match at Nchanga Stadium. Wanderers drew first blood through Aubrey Chamulwanda after the goal keeper spilled the ball, The goal came just minutes after Guily Manziba’s goal had been disallowed.
Umeji Okechukwu equalised for Rangers before Terry Mwashi won it for the Chingola based out-fit. The result sends Rangers to 40 points and out of the relegation zone condemning Mighty back into the drop zone.
At Sunset Stadium, Sensational Zanaco cruised to a three nil win over Nkwazi to reduce Zesco United’s lead to two points. Enerst Mbewe opened the scoring in the 61st minute before Felix Nyaende doubled the bankers advantage eight minutes later.
Richard Kasonde rounded Zanaco’s brilliant second half performance with his 83rd minute strike.
At Vodafone Woodlands Stadium, a Maisha Chavda first half strike was enough for Team Kopala to beat relegated City of Lusaka .
At The New Stadium in Nakonde, Lusaka Dynamos blew their top four hopes after going down one nil to relegated Real Nakonde. Dynamos are now five points adrift of fourth placed Nkana who they hope fail to pick any point in the two remaining games.
In Lumwana, Power Dynamos returned to winning ways after failing to pick up maximum points in their last seven games. National team striker Alex Ngonga scored the only goal of the game as Power beat Lumwana Radiants by a lone goal.
Elsewhere, Warren Kunda put the ball in the back of his own neat as Nkana run away one nil victors against Green Eagles. Robert Musonda scored for Green Buffaloes as they beat Forest Rangers one nil.
Kabwe Warriors and Napsa Stars played out to a goalless draw while Nakambala Leopards and Konkola Blades drew one all.
