National team call-ups delight Arrows trio
Red Arrows Women Football Club Trio of Fikile Khosa, Emeldah Musonda, and Milika Limwanya have expressed happiness with their national team call-ups and are all looking forward to the challenge ahead of them.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew, Khosa who is on loan from National Assembly Women’s Football Club is happy and delighted with her call up and has vowed to work extra hard and utilize this opportunity.
“L am happy to have received my first National Team call-up, I have been dreaming and praying for this moment. I thank God for this and I will do my level best in this new challenge and work according to the Coach’s Instructions,” said Khosa.
Meanwhile, Emeldah Musonda who is making a return to the National team told the ZamFoot Crew that she feels good to be back in the squad and has thanked God and her team Red Arrows for helping her to reach this far and she hopes the team will qualify to the Olympics.
“It feels great to be back and I thank God for this opportunity and I hope to see the team winning the final game both home and away. The most gratitude goes to my team Red Arrows without them I couldn’t have made it this far,” she said.
Another player returning to the squad Milika Limwanya has also expressed happiness with the call-up and says she is eager to do her best and impress the technical bench who now have a wide pool of players in terms of team selection before making the final cut.
Other new faces this time around in the 29 member squad includes Yasa Queens duo of Captain Patricia Lampi and Goalkeeper Edith Zulu alongside another duo from Indeni Roses Annie Namonje and Grace Nanyinza with Zesco forward Avel Chitundu also getting the nod in the squad.
The Coach Bruce Mwape’s Charges will host the Mares of Botswana on October 2 at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium and 4 days later will travel to that country for the return match with the winner over the two legs qualifying to the fourth round of the Olympics Qualifier to face winners between Ghana and Kenya.
