National pride at stake as Zambia U20 take on South Africa

The Zambia U20 national team will this evening play South Africa in a formality match after both teams were booted out of the on-going Senegal 2015 CAF Africa Youth Championship.

Zambia tumbled to two losses at the hands of Mali and Ghana in the first two games and find themselves in a similar position with their opponents this evening where a win for either side will not change matters on who progresses to the semi-finals of the competition.

However, the Hector Chilombo coached side are looking to come back home with a win and have maintained a positive attitude ahead of the game.

“We came here to play three games and to approach them with the seriousness they deserve. This evening we shall just do that. We are aware South Africa will also try to get a win and that is what makes the game interesting,” defender Kayawe Kapota said ahead of the match.

Zambia will go into the match still without inspirational captain Lubambo Musonda who is still injured.

Musonda has only managed to complete some light training and will exit the tournament having only played 21 minutes.

Chilombo is expected to name the same line-up that started and impressed but failed to find enough goals against Ghana.

The game will kick off at 19:30 hours.

Probable Line-up

1.Mangani Banda. 3 . Peter Mulenga. 4.Boyd Mkandawire. 13. Kayawe Kapota. 15.Alex Mwamba. 12. Benson Sakala. 18. Spencer Sautu. 9.Charles Zulu. 11.Larry Bwalya 7.Patrick Ngoma 20.Davy Daka.
