Mweene fit to face Nigeria

Chipolopolo Boys captain Kennedy Mweene is fit to face Nigeria on Saturday, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal contrary to media reports from West Africa.

And teenage striker Patson Daka is set to make the match day squad.

“Mweene trained with us and he is okay while Patson trained on his own because he just joined us,” the ZamFoot Crew insider revealed on Friday after news on social media intensified that the the duo are out the tie.

The match on Saturday will see only the trio Mweene, Stopilla Sunzu and Chisamba Lungu as the only survivors from the 2-1 defeat 12 months ago at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

“We have done our home work and electrified our mistakes we did against Algeria in both legs,” Mweene said.

Meanwhile Nigeria hold the upper hand on head to head against Zambia.

  2. Its been a tight squeeze affair between these two testesterone ladden bulls.. Naija is such a beautiful soccer nation.. So is Zambia.. I look forward to a book makers match with Zambia heading to the World Cup

  3. Wedson Nyirenda should drop Patson to the bench because the boy is not 100% fit. Every ambiteous player would declare themselves fit for a match such as this one. This move will boost Ngonga’s moral to do better… As a sign of trust.

Wedson should start with Fashion & Ngonga upfront. If he does this then it will show how serious a coach he is.

No need to play names, this is not the match. Let us use the best possible legs in terms of fitness because we need pace and psychological toughness in this game.

Lagos — Joe Eric known better as Erico, unquestionably is one of Nigeria’s most outstanding football goalkeepers, both for services to the national team, and his professional career and artistic performance. Since retiring from the game, he has pursued a coaching career at top clubs in Nigeria and then the national teams.

But not many people knew that besides football, Erico too was an all-round athlete. He was a high jumper/long jumper and did not over look track events as young man in the school. That’s an aspect of his life that he unveils here, in the same manner that he relives his career as a footballer at ECN that later became NEPA F.C. of Lagos.
