Mozambique dent Zambia U17 national team’s record

Zambia U17 national team lost their first games at the on going COSAFA U17 championships. The Young Chipolopolo boys went down 1 nil to Mozambique in their last group game.

Geny Catamo scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute from a free kick. Numba Mumamba and his technical bench named a second string team as Zambia had already qualified going into this match.

The result has left Coach Numba Mumamba disappointed but says the changes where necessary to give all the boys chance to play.

“it’s a disappointing result. We were trying to see all the players we have in camp. We needed to give everyone a chance. We have alot of work to do especially with the boys that played today,” said Numba

Zambia will play their semi final encounter on Friday. The copper Bullets have to wait for tomorrow’s clash between Malawi and Mauritius to know their opponents.
