Mayuka and nine others are set to leave the Cairo giants at the end of the season.
Zamalek were eliminated from the CAF Champions League group stage after finishing third behind USM Alger of Algeria and Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli.
USM Alger and Al Ahli Tripoli advanced to the quarter-finals.
Club chairman Mortada Mansour said: “A lot of players don’t deserve to wear Zamalek’s shirt. I think 10 players will leave the team this summer.”
According to Kingfut.com, Mansour said he is the one who rates players.
He said a number of players were performing below par.
Defender Eslam Gamal, midfielder Mostafa Fathi, strikers Ahmed Gafaar, Stanley Ohawuchi and Ali Fathi are other players that have been released.
Mayuka moved to the White Knights in January 2016 on a permanent deal from French Ligue 2 club Metz, penning a three and a half-year deal.
He joined Metz in 2015 from English Premiership outfit Southampton, where he spent three seasons but failed to impress.
Mayuka’s deal with Zamalek was scheduled to expire in 2019.
He has had stints with French outfit Sochaux, Swiss side Young Boys and Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
In January this year, Zamalek fined Mayuka US$50,000 (about K500,000) for being absent without official leave.
Mayuka was part of the national team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 finishing as joint top scorer with three goals alongside compatriot Christopher Katongo and Ivory Coast forward Didier Drogba.

Disapointing….
I think its time to come back home and join either Buildcon (they want local players); Lusaka Dynamos; Team ya ziko; the Bankers; NAPSA stars or indeed Nakambala Leopards ?
Come back home son . Egypt is not good for any Zanbian athlet!
Kikiki … or join Lumwana Radiants!
Yes let him go where he will be appreciated in egypty they don’t treat black players well the only country in north africa were they treat black players well is tunisia.my advise to you mayuka is that don’t give up I believe in you its just that at zamalek they did not give enough game time to prove yourself you were always on the bench and don’t listen to bunch of monkeys on this blog will insult you and bring down just contiune working hard otherwise I wish you all the best may God be with you
Meanwhile in another transfer news zanaco striker saith sakala is said to have caught the interest from two north African giant Ahily of egypty and wydad casablaca of morroco.this is after he impress them in the games that he played against them.but my advise to saith sakala is that if you want progress in your career don’t go there but if you want your career to destroyed just go there learn from sate sate, patrick ngoma, clatous chama, fres mwila junior and mayuka, may be you can try wydad casablanca
When he just left the saints i never saw him going anywhere hard luck.
disaster and disappointing
North Africa has not been good for our players. Only Kenneth Malitoli enjoyed some measure of success at Espereance and maybe Maybin Mgaiwa at Wydad, otherwise it has been a disaster for Zambians. Come back to Zesco or Zanaco or any team promising continental football. You can only enjoy the chance to fully re-discover your skill locally.
I agree on what you have just said Pungwa.
looks like a drunk sitting on the bench.. Mooba muntu uyu wamuchita kuyipa. His gained.
Mayuka is too careless with life, too much food and bear.. my advice to you is stop Bear and those juck foods if you are to revive your career,
