Maramba Stars 1 – 0 Blue Arrows
Maramba striker Josphat was the hero as his last gasp header gave the people’s team a 1 – 0 win over Blue Arrows in the second derby meeting of the season after the first at Chitanki ended goaless.
Both sides had first half misses and offisides,in a match which lacked of clear cut chances but the people’s team striker got his third goal of the Campaign against Arrows to give Maramba all the three points right at the death.
Arrows made the early running but only an off target shot from Tembo was the outcome. Things began to turn Arrows way just from the begining of the game and they had most of the ball played in the hosts own half, Tembo and Kelvin Chileshe were the best in midfield as the pulled off the strings for Arrows and Maramba was busy chasing shadows just.
Moments later Arthur Mubila saw a deflected cross roll just wide off his post, Before Ashwell forced a good save from Chisanga with a good shot near the penalty spot. The Airmen were all over Maramba and Arthur kept defenders at bay, He hit the post just after the half hour mark. Ashwell Choosa got on the end of a corner but could not direct the ball passed Chisenga.
Arrows midfielder Tembo brilliant drilled ball into the box only needed a touch from Arthur but the lanky striker couldn’t get a touch to it. Joshua Madala had a golden oppotunity to give Maramba the lead as he was picked out by charles,unmarked but he hit a weak shot which was easily collected by the Maramba goalkeeper.
Blue Arrows started the second half in a much better fashion putting Maramba under pressure but were unable to create any good chances on goal.Arthur,Tembo and Ashwell Choosa all had there efforts bloked by the Stars backline. The visitors made a change in midfield to add more attacking power but that was the change of the game as it gave Maramba room to start playing freely in midfield.
Both teams got tired as the match went on with the visitor chances becoming less and less with the hosts having frequent chances as Maramba dominated.Lemmy crossed for Josphat but his header was easily saved by Demo and at the other end Tembo hit the woodwork from a freekick at the edge of Maramba’s 18 yard box.
Just minutes to the end stars had the ball in the back of the net as Joshua shot home a Josphat pass but on its way into the net it come off the back of charles and the goal was ruled for offside.
Arrow were handed a big blow as Arthur Mubika got injured and replace by Sikanda but then in the 89th minute josphart was positioned perfectly to node home a wonderful taken corner to put the game to bed as the host picked a massive win as the result gives Maramba stars there first win after 13 games.
