Malumo, Edward Chilufya out of the Burundi tie
England based teenage striker Mwiya Malumo has been ruled out of this Saturday’s CAF Under-20 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.
And Swedish based winger Edward Chilufya will also miss out due to club commitments
“Both players are out. The technical bench wanted them but Malumo wants to sort out his club future,” a ZamFoot Crew source said.
“There’s a possibility that he might going to Burnely from Wigan.
“For Edward, it’s about him trying to force his way into the Djugardens main team. He understands a good pre season may play a crucial role.
Malumo has two caps for Zambia under-20. He scored a crucial goal on his full debut against Rwanda in the previous round.
Chilufya was part of famed class of ’17 that won the African Youth Championship on home soil last year.
The Kasama native has been settling well in Sweden with his club.
Alongside Patson Daka, Enoch Mwepu, Emmanuel Banda and Fashion Sakala, he is considered by many as Zambia’s symbol of present and future.
