Lwandamina on verge of winning title after Chirwa nets winner
Obrey Chirwa netted a goal for Young Africans of Tanzania to help them to a 2 – 1 win over Mbeya City which saw them maintain delicate lead on top of the Ligi kuu bara table.
Under pressure coach George Lwandamina who saw his team fail to make the group stages if Africa named Chirwa in the starting line up as he looks to ensure that he wins the league.
Yanga went ahead in the first half before the visitors pulled one back just before the hour mark with some good individual play.
But it was 23 year old Chirwa who saved the day for Lwandamina when he headed home from inside a congested box.
The striker has been in prolific form this season scoring 12 goals this season.
Yanga are currently level on 35 points with Simba but have a healthier goal difference and a game in hand.
With only one more round of games to play in the league, George Lwandamina could wrap-up the title today when they face Toto Africans in their rescheduled match.
