Lusaka Dynamos lose point for use an ineligible player
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has punished Lusaka Dynamos by docking them the one point they earned against Power Dynamos in the 3 – 3 week one draw at the National Heroes Stadium for using an ineligible player.
The complainant Power Dynamos have since been awarded three points.
Fazfootball reports that Power Dynamos lodged a complaint over the eligibility of Lusaka Dynamos player Kadima Tresor Kanyinda whom they alleged did not have a valid International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
The complaint was lodged a day after the match that was played at Heroes Stadium.
Club vice president Ricky Mamfunda in his complaint filed 24 hours after the match stated that for any foreign player to have authority to play in another association (country), he needs to be cleared by FIFA through the Transfer Matching System.
In defence Lusaka Dynamos argued that the player had been issued a registration card for the 2017 season therefore making him eligible to play.
The result will see Power move into third position from their current 10th position.
Lusaka Dynamos drop into 11th position from 6th.
