A mistake by Shemmy Mayembe sees Namibia exploit the right channel but the defense recovers well. Zambia seem more settled now with patient build ups through the middle

First yellow goes to Namibia. Dangerous could on debutant Benson Sakala but he picks himself up

Chingandu misses the ball completely after it bounced invitingly for him in the box. A minute later Mubanga balloons a shot from outside the box. Namibia also shoot over the bar from outside the box

Toaster tested for the first time with a shot to the far post but he saves for a corner

  7. I don’t like Zambia’s chances in a penalty shootout. Hopefully we see some changes to try and pry this Namibia defense open.

  8. ?? Zambia 0-0 Namibia 72′
What a pass from Clatous Chama who finds Kambole but he shoots over the bar from inside the box

  14. Zambia’s undoing is back passing. When in attacking mode Zambia has been helping the opponent to regroup many a times. Jack Chirwa was worse at that. Does it mean that Zambia does not have the bulldozer type of players anymore. Does Zammbia have no skillful players who can take on the defense? This is a serious concern.

    • Thats my concern as well…we dont have players to beat a man anymore. There is only lameck banda in the league at the moment…

  15. Zambia 0-0 Namibia (4-3 Post match Penalties)
    Cosafa Cup Quarter Finals
Zambia sail through to the semi finals after beating Namibia 4-3 on post match penalties. The two teams played out to a goalless draw in regulation time

  16. Striking force need to be reinforced zambia were so impressed with ball movement. Especially chama very creative. Jack chilwa need to improve he loose position so easily. Besides that congratulations

  17. To be honest watching the game full 90 minutes
We were able to string few passes which were not the case with Wada
Solomon sakala n Jack chirwa were poor losing the balls easily n back passes when infact if they employed going forward we would put these Namibia team under pressure
Chama was brilliant holding the ball n making good quality passes
I think lary Bwalya would have be better than Jack chirwa
The right n left backs were ok
That boy mayembe is better than Simon silwimba
That left back is far better than kapumbu
Upfront chambeshi didn’t go with good strikers
All in all it was a better performance than the chipantepante pante we were treated with under Wada
Next time let’s try forward passes n not backwards

  18. The team never played an international friendly match. They playing for the first time together. They need time for them to have cohesion in the team… Chambeshi is a good coach judging by his team selection. His phylosopy and system works. He should just target final spot. Winning the tournament its a bonus. Chambeshi’s itention is clear. he wants young and energetic players to create a big pool of players for rebuilding the dilapidated chipolopolo.

  19. Biggest issue were the back passes all the way to Toaster Nsabata even when going forward was the best option.
The players would break Namibia up to the centre circle, needing only a forward thrust to distabilise Namibia, then alas, they send the ball backwards until it gets to Nsabata. by the time they start forward Namibia would have regrouped and stabilised. And this was done so many times

Can we try in the next game to vary the back passes and forward thrusts randomly when there is chance.
