Lewis Macha signs for Kaizer Chiefs

Zambian striker Lewis Macha has moved signed for South African PSL top side Kaizer Chiefs.

Macha who was until now playing for Ferroviário de Maputo in Mozambique was announced as a Chiefs Player on Monday.

He finished as the club’s top scorer last season with 10 goals and will be hoping to help Chiefs who have been struggling with a sharp shooter.

He was playing under Wedson Nyirenda in Mozambique.

It is believed that Nyirenda, a former Amakhosi striker’ helped broker the deal as he has good knowledge of both the player and the club.

His brother Matthews Macha is currently the top scorer for super league side Napsa Stars.

he has made a big mistake, he wil be warming the bench at chiefs & he wil be finished, he shud hv remain in mozambique or heading to botswana.

    • SHI MWEWA says:

I don’t think so bro Abram we all aspire for greater thing in life and this move is a step in a right direction. The league in Mozambique is not as big and as marketed as the one in RSA. Therefore, this is the best platform for him to showcase his talent to the lucrative European leagues and all that is required is for him to apply himself coupled with a can do attitude!

  2. gabriel sendz says:

Good move Lewis! You just need to prove yourself in psl!U can’t go to Botswana!

  3. chisuta says:

chiefs is a big club kaya

  4. Tc Soccerman says:

Weird how his name is not on the list of new Chiefs signings on the bbc article.

  5. kampinda says:

Lets hope things pan out differently for him. We are tired of all the discouraging reports about the majority of our players from RSA.

  6. 12 says:

Macha did not play Under Nyirenda in Mocambola, Macha was at Ferrovario Maputo and Wedson is coach for Ferrovario Beira. Sometime early this Year, wedson recommende Macha for Chipolopolo but a few ‘prominent’ fellows shot his recommendaion down.. Good Move for the former Pirates and Jetters Player

  7. Shaa says:

Algeria just got ex ghana coach in the lead up to wc. Zambia should look at getting a seriouse coach e.g ex ghana coach kwesi appiah can do wonders for zambia and it affordable or even keshi if still alive.

  8. Shaa says:

Or you can save tax payers money because even if you get expatriate coach your group is too difficult to qualify from and thats just being realistic..zambia is simply not on the same class as its oponents and the likelihood of 2012 fluke to arise is slim to none.

  9. moo says:

I have watched Lewis play so many times. Why he does not play for the national team, i don’t know because he is far much better than Patson Daka.

  10. Manfree says:

My fellow socer fans, check Africanfootball.com website zambia is linked with a very good coach who is French. He is
meeting our sports minister an faz president in France 2day.

Former Nigeria coach Philippe Troussier ‘The White Witch Doctor’ is to meet with Zambian sports minister as The Chipolopolo move to appoint a permanent coach ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in October.

Zambia are drawn in ‘The Group of Death’ along with Nigeria, Algeria and Cameroon.

They open their campaign on October 3 at home against Nigeria.

The 2012 African champions have been handled by local man George Lwandamina on an interim basis since last year.

Frenchman Troussier, 61, qualified Nigeria to the 1998 World Cup, but was relieved of his post before the tournament in his homeland.

He guided 2002 World Cup co-hosts Japan to the knockout stages of that tournament after he previously worked with Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco, Burkina Faso and South Africa.

His last job was last year with a Chinese club.

  12. Sibs says:

I saw the reports yesterday in the S.A Media that Lewis had signed for Chiefs. He was one of the 8 players unveiled by K.Chiefs. He has to be good or he will go down. Chiefs, O.Pirates, M.Sundowns have always the pressure to deliver and the same pressure weighs down on the players and Coach. It’s either swim or drown with these clubs. There is lack of patience from the Coach especially S.Khompela his Coach who will be under pressure after the club won nothing last season.

By the way @12 how old is Lewis you seem to know him better? I wish him well. He can make it. He has just to put in 100% and hit the ground running then he will succeed.
We need “fresh legs” at National team.

  13. Chinsburg says:

We need him to beef up our attacking formation. Patrick Daka is a fluke.
