Lameck Banda retains Zamfoot player of the week crown

The MTN/FAZ Super League week fourteen action saw most big guns recording narrow victories and obviously the biggest news was Kabwe Youth recording their first win of the season.

The Zamfoot also returns with their choice for team of the week comprising players who went an extra mile in their performance for their club.

Team of the week

GK: Namoyo Boyd of Kabwe Youth makes his debut in the Zamfoot team of the week . The young goalkeeper kept a clean sheet and was equal to task in answering all the questions Lumwana Radiants strike force threw at him.

RB: Taonga Bwembya, The Zanaco man captained the team in their one nil loss to Green Buffaloes in the absence of Ziyo Tembo and George Chilufya and put in an amazing shift to keep Youremember Banda quite in the first half and was effective going forward.

LB: Anshel, The young Forest Rangers left back kept Nchanga Rangers wingers at bay and helped Forest Rangers record a two nil win as well as keep a clean sheet.

CB: Henry Besa, The National Assembly center back was exceptionally good and probably the parliamentarians best player of match day 14 as they held Red Arrows to a goalless draw at Nkoloma Stadium.

CB: Kelvin Owusu, The Nkwazi defender brought his A game to Edwin Imboela stadium on match day 14 and kept Rahim Osumanu in check as Nkwazi kept a clean sheet on route to a one nil win over Buildcon.

DMF: Dickson Chapa, NAPSA stars defensive midfielder protected his back four well against one of the most lethal strike force in the league. Chapa made sure the Warriors midfield did not a field day and that earns him a place in this week’s Zamfoot team of the week.

Special : Linos Makwaza Jnr had an excellent debut. Boyd Musonda and Fellon Sitonya also put in great shifts.

RM: Lameck Banda, The Zesco United youngster gave United alot of problems and assisted Jesse Jackson Were’s winner as Zesco United came from a goal down to beat Kitwe United by two goals to one.

CM: Sebastian Mwansa, The former Zambia U20 national team captain seems to have rolled back the years and is playing like a teenager. He was all over the Buildcon midfielders making sure Nkwazi dominated the midfield.

CM: Jacob Ngulube the Nkana midfielder controlled the Nkana play in midfield and helped them to a one nil win away in Mazabuka.

LW: Austin Muwowo, The Kitwe United winger gave another great performance and netted a goal despite Chingalika losing he was outstanding.

CF: Damiano Kola, The Zanaco on loan striker to Forest Rangers scored his second goal in as many games and gave alot of problems to the Nchanga Rangers defence to help his team to a two nil win .

Special Mention: Alex Ng’onga

Player of the week : Zambia U20 national team winger Lameck Banda has returned the player of the week crown after another outstanding performance from the teenager.

Coach of the week : Nkwazi ended Buildcon’s ten match unbeaten run and generally dominated Buildcon and with the great tactical approach from Chris Kaunda he has earned this week’s coach of the week.
