Junior Chipolopolo host Burundi in AFCON qualifier
The Zambia Under-20 host Burundi at Nkoloma Stadium in the first leg of the final round of the CAF U20 African Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday afternoon.
In the build up to this tie, the Charles Bwale tutored boys played two warm up games against Malawi and South Africa at Nkoloma Stadium.
In both games, there were loopholes which were exposed and the technical bench which also includes Perry Mutapa have been working on them.
The defending Champions who dispatched Rwanda in the previous round will be without two European based duo Mwiya Malumo and Edward Chilufya.
Skipper and playmaker Prince Mumba is also out injured and is likely to be replaced by the talented Klings Kangwa who spent a season in Israel.
Without Malumo, the bulldozer Francisco Mwepu will should the burden.
Lameck Banda, Martin Njobvu, James Chilimina and Obinno Chisala are other attacking options at Bwale and Mutapa’s disposal.
Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Prince Bwalya will captain the side and start in goal with the likes of Christopher Katongo, Hakwiya marshalling the defence
The towering Thomas Zulu might start on the bench.
The return leg will be played next week in Ngozi.
