Janny Sikazwe appointed to officiate 2017 CAN final

Zambian referee Janny has won the race to be the centre man for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final.

Sikazwe will for the first time take the highest honour in African football refereeing after he had only managed a fourth official spot in the final at the last Africa Cup of Nations tournamennt.

The 38 year old in December was the referee of the final match at the club World Cup when Real Madrid beat Yokohama Marinos.

He shook off a strong challenge from South African referee Daniel Bennett who will be the fourth official.

Egypt will play Cameroon in the final of the 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday 5th February.

Its your time sir. may this moment be used to inspire many a Zambian youth to continue dreaming and pushing for goals that ordinarily would look impossible.

  2. They say Gassama of Gambia is the best referee in Africa having been voted so 3 times in a row but I say Sikazwe is number 1.I saw the way Gassama handled the Ghana versus Cameroun match in the semi final but I was not impressed by his refereeing.

  3. This is our stadium five years down the lane Zambia still just involved one way or another just this time is one person . But still backed by 15 million people go babaz go
