Zambian referee Janny has won the race to be the centre man for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Sikazwe will for the first time take the highest honour in African football refereeing after he had only managed a fourth official spot in the final at the last Africa Cup of Nations tournamennt.
The 38 year old in December was the referee of the final match at the club World Cup when Real Madrid beat Yokohama Marinos.
He shook off a strong challenge from South African referee Daniel Bennett who will be the fourth official.
Egypt will play Cameroon in the final of the 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday 5th February.
Congrats baba Sikazwe; we are proud of you as nation and indeed as Africa. Your secret has always been humility. i am confident you will give us a proud moment as a continent; lets face it, you are the best at your job at the moment. They say Gassama of Gambia is the best referee in Africa having been voted so 3 times in a row but I say Sikazwe is number 1.I saw the way Gassama handled the Ghana versus Cameroun match in the semi final but I was not impressed by his refereeing.
