Top Zambian referee Jan Sikazwe has been appointed as one of the 22 centre referees for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.
According to the list of appointees released by FIFA and obtained by Fazfootball.com, Sikazwe is one of three Confederation of African Football (CAF) referees that will be in South Korea while African will also have representation with six assistant referees.
Sikazwe is joined on the African panel by Egyptian Grisha Ghead and Cameroonian Alioum Alioum.
The Kapiri Mposhi based school teacher has been flying the Zambian flag high and handled the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2016 featuring Real Madrid and Kashima Antlers of Japan.
He also handled the final for the 2017 Africa Cup that was won by Cameroun in February.
Sikazwe is also on the shortlist for 2018 Russia World Cup and is hoping to be named as an African representative for the World Cup.
Zambia will be at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 and will be in Group C alongside Portugal, Costa Rica and Iran.
