It’s painful to lose to a team like Zanaco – Perry Mutapa
Forest Rangers football club were yesterday beaten by Sensational Zanaco in an MTN/FAZ Super League week 6 match played at sunset stadium.
Fole malembe coach Perry Mutapa was left fuming as he thought his team was the better side on the day and did not deserve to lose to Zanaco.
“In the first 15 minutes, we kept the ball well, we penetrated and had 3 chances but we did not score,” he said.
“It’s very painful to lose to a team like zanaco, at some point they were leading but they could not start from the back. My players did not follow all my instructions, if they did we could have beaten Zanaco.”
Sensational Zanaco scored early in the first half through a Tafadzwa Rusike penalty and it proved to be the all-important goal as they claimed all the three points via a one-nil scoreline.
“I do not know what to say to the players cause we have lost to a team we are not supposed to lose to, yes they have won but they never played to the standard, this also affects the national team,” he said.
“I watched the Zesco United game and it was a marvel to watch and that is how football should be played, building from the back.”
The loss sees Forest Rangers drop to sixth place while Zanaco moves up to the seventh place.
