It’s all or nothing says Vandenbroeck
Chipolopolo Boys coach Sven Vandenbroeck has said Zambia will go for maximum points on Wednesday in the Cameroon 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea Bissau.
Speaking on Tuesday at Heroes Stadium as he addressed the media, the Belgian born coach also reported a clean bill of health save for the flu.
“You can see it’s a home game. The importance of the game is rising.
“The two games against Guinea [Bissau] is for us is crucial. I think we don’t have to lie about it. It’s all or nothing” he said.
Vandenbroeck also gave out the possible permutations on Zambia’s chances.
“With zero points you are totally out, with three on six, you depending on other results. Four on six you are still in the race . And six on six brings you in a good position again.
“That’s the mathematics.
With a six pointer from the two back to back games, Vandenbroeck is aware how important the games are.
“The window of two games against Guinea Bissau is crucial and will turn around the group.
“As you know we don’t have much time to prepare the game,” he said
“So all the boys were on time. The last one came in on Sunday and we had a full capacity training.
“We don’t have injuries at the moment so thats good news . Theres a little bit flu for a few guys as you know it’s getting cold in Europe.
“Training yesterday was all about recovery mode.
“Today will be a little bit more intensive and preparations for the game tomorrow.
“Like I said it’s a crucial game and so everyone should be aware of that with the mind set that a home game is winning.
