ITS A NORMAL GREETING -WERE
One of the influential players at ZegaZega Jesse Were seemingly is having a time of his at the power supply and distribution company sponsored side. And this may also be attributed to the wonderful relationship he appears to have with the Head Coach George Lwandamina.
This was evident when Jesse Were was substituted and did a greeting ritual that took close to full one minute. Seemingly appreciating his club mentor.
Asked about the greeting, Jesse laughed it out and said the coach has special greetings for each player and I happened to receive that from him.
“The coach has got different greetings with every player and he loves them. At the start of the season we just did it a few times in training then it became part of us,” said Were.
He went further to say it was now a normal greeting for him and the coach,
“Actually to tell you the truth it’s just like when you wake up and say hi to me it’s normal,” Jesse confirmed.
Zesco United have won five out of the five games played this calendar season with a total number of 12 goals scored and 4 allowed. They are behind Red Arrows with a point but have a game in hand against Power Dynamos.
Jesse Were is not getting carried away with the super run and he believes the league has fine margins with every team fighting to win the league.
” I can say yes we’ve started well but as you know the league is like a marathon you need to take it easy and at the same time you check on your competitors and see what they are doing. You need to know when to pounce on them. But without a doubt, its exciting that we have picked maximum points so far and this is down to hard work behind the scenes and the togetherness of this group,” concluded Were who is now an all time top goal scorer for ZESCO United with 84 goals.
