Injury scare: Kola limps off during Uganda friendly match

Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda’s plans for the game against Cameroon this weekend may be derailed after Israel based striker Rgoers Kola limped off during an international friendly match against Uganda which Zambia won 1 – 0.

Kola sustained a knee injury in the game when he collided with the Cranes goalkeeper Robert Odongkara in the 60th minute.

The match had to be temporarily stopped for the playersame to be attended to, but despite trying to shake off the injury, the lanky striker had to give way for Collins Mbesuma.

With barely 4 days before the match against Cameroon, it is clear that Wada Wada was bent on having a more mobile front two and was priming Kola and Kangwa to lead the assault for Zambia in Limbe.

With Strikers Jackson Mwanza and Winstone Kalengo already dropped due to injury,  the absence of Kola if he does not recover will only leave Kangwa, Mbesuma and Ronald Kampamba as the only strikers available for selection.

  1. He can drop adrian chama and bring in mayuka…we hav so many centre backs in de team and also drop sate sate for mbola to come in we hav only one left back fuckson kapumbu….wich z a very big risk for a team

  2. Kola has not been that prolific in front of goal for quite a long time now neither has Mayuka who is even failing to get first team football at Zamalek.
Going by current form and the fact that we need an active goal scorer I would call Chamanga to replace Kola if the injury is serious enough to make him miss the game.

  3. Zamfoot could u educate us over Walter Bwalya: is he eligible to play for Zambia or not? Mashaba has called a player born in Belgium from a Dutch father and south African mother to play for Bafana. Safa organised a passport within weeks?! Why r we sleeping over Walter?!!Zamfoot can u bring this matter to a close?!

  4. All these players are available, CK ,Chamanga, Mayuka n Singuluma. Just pick two to replace the injured Kola and not so effective Ronald Kampamba. His size alone don’t go with the physicality of the Cameroonians.

  5. Win or loose, the coach has reasons for picking or leaving players .its not new and in Zambia only.those left out are either injured or not active and issue of game time. You respected janza and allowed lwandamina to work hence let nyirenda try his luck.we can’t or be chipolopolo coaches .one zed coach at a time. Some of the players you are hinting about have always performed well and given us hope only to fail again and again.with sate sate , in my opinion is more clever for his average body and intelligent given a good chance and can make something out of half chances if given enough time and right combination that is with Evans kangwa, which most coaches have ignored. It reminds me of sunzu -himoonde partnership but we Zambians are quick to finish our own players with word of mouth and later if they are left out start crying for them ,eg katongo, mayuka, chamanga, chansa(though recalled), observe what other teams do to their players. Our contributions are very much opinioted and most of the times disastrous. Look at what renald did , he went against people’s wishes even went to train in India, chased people’s choice from camp in Gabon(Clifford) and results : came back with the camp.yet people still talked nosense and results , he did not perform well. They criticized, he left and won cup with ivory.now made Morocco first team to qualify to afcon.let’s wait and see

  6. Good lucky 2 chipolopolo n let us supprt our national team.go zambia go.ur rght my bro sate sate n evanz ar vry gud wen it cmz 2 scorin wait n c.
