Injured Mkandawire replaced in Cosafa Cup

Zambia Under-20 left back Boyd Mkandawire has been ruled out of the 2016 Cosafa Cup after picking up an injury.

The Napsa Stars has been replaced by former Under-17 international Prosper Chilufya. Mkandawire was one of three players with full Chipolopolo caps in the side.

Under former Chipolopolo Boys coach George Lwandamina, the left back started for Zambia in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

There was also a change in the team as Mufulira native Happy Nsofwa has also been replaced by Edward Chilufya.

The junior Chipolopolo are in group Bwhich also has Malawi.

Zambia are favorites to qualify out of the group as they have been a dominant force at this tournament.

Coach Beston Chambeshi has a perfect chance to shape a team for next years Africa Junior Championship which Zambia will host.

Other teams participating in the Cosafa tournament are; Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Dem. Rep. Congo, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, Sudan, Seychelles, South Africa and Swaziland

    Why do they even lie that Boyd Mkandawire is U-20? You will be banned by CAF and FIFA. That boy cannot be U-20. Age cheating should not be tolerated in our football.

      That’s the first thing I thought about when I saw the headline. I don’t understand why we cant just pick real under 20s. Not unless FAZ wants another embarassment

    Boyd, solomon, mangami, ngoma, paul they were born in 1997 therefore they are eligiable to play for the under twenty . They all played for the under 17 they have a traceable record…
