Guinea Bissau v Zambia Build Up: Salulani pushing for a start
Polokwane City Midfielder Salulani Phiri might be the only change for tonight’s Group K of the Cameroon 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Guinea Bissau and Zambia, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
With the official line up set to be released at around 17h00, an hour before kick-off, there has been speculation in Bissau that the former Zanaco anchor man might replace either Lubambo Musonda or Clatous Chama in the starting line-up.
Ideally the coach [Sven Vandenbroeck] prefers a 4-3-3 formation with one sitting midfielder and two attacking midfielders in the middle of the pack but the Belgian trainer is aware that it is an away game in West Africa.
Should he decide to start with Salulani then he will join Nathan Sinkala and Enock Mwepu in a midfield three with the latter in a more advanced role.
Augustine Mulenga will occupy the left flank with either Clatous or Lubambo on the right while Justin Shonga will continue as a lone striker.
Shonga will hope to continue his scoring spree. The Orlando Pirates man has scores in each of Vandenbroeck’s first three matches.
Should Zambia be chasing the game, then Rainford Kalaba who has had a minor soft tissue injury might be called from the bench to rescue the team.
The defence will remain unchanged with Stopilla Sunzu and Kabaso Chongo in central defence while Solomon Sakala and Lawrence Chungu will be the full backs.
Kennedy Mweene will captain the side.
The match will be live on Supersport with kickkoff at 18h00.
