Green Eagles are a very good team in Africa- Jovic
Primeiro De Agosto Head Coach Dragan Jovic believes their opponents in Saturday’s CAF Champions League first leg, first round pre-group stage match, Green Eagles are a very good team in Africa.
Jovic is however confident his side will do well against a very organized Kawale Boys side. The Angolan giants’ gaffer has set his sights on reaching the group stage.
“Yes, they are a great club in Zambia and a very good team in Africa. We have seen two games for Eagles (against Orlando Pirates ) we already know that it won’t be easy but we are here to play well and reach the group stage,” he said.
“We will try to play well. For us, anything except a loss is a good result. We are a group that plays every game to win and will try to win here but we will play against a team that is very good defensively and in transition. The club also has good balance but we are prepared for all this,” he added.
Captain of the side Massunguna Alex Afonso is wary of the challenge that awaits them on Saturday but he is confident that he and his teammates are up to the task.
“We have witnessed a lot of Zambian players in Europe which means Zambia has a lot of players of quality. Talking about Ian Bakala he did a lot while in Angola,” he said.
“On Saturday we will have a lot of work to do but as my coach has said we are here ready for anything and we will play how we always do so that we can come out of Zambia with a good result,” he added.
The two will go head to head on Saturday, September 14th at the National Heroes Stadium at 15:00hrs.
