Chipolopolo U23 foreign based players off to their bases

The foreign-based legion of players has trooped back to their bases after having featured for the Zambia Under-23 National Team on Sunday in Brazzaville.

Zambia beat Congo Brazzaville 5-4 on aggregate after a 3-3 result on Sunday at the Alphonse Massamba-Debat.

The eight players comprising Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu (both Red Bull Salzburg), Fashion Sakala, Emmanuel Banda (both Oostende), Kings Kangwa, Lameck Banda (both Arsenal Tula), Gamphani Lungu (SuperSport Unired) and Mwiya Malumo (Urlam FC) left Brazzaville this afternoon and will proceed to their bases.

The local players will fly to Lusaka on Tuesday.

Zambia and hosts Egypt will be joined by six other qualified nations when the qualifying tournament for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations draws to its end this week.

The six remaining slots will be decided on Tuesday in the following fixtures;

10.09.2019 Bulawayo Zimbabwe vs South Africa (0-5)

10.09.2019 Setif Algeria vs Ghana (1-1)

10.09.2019 Tunis Tunisia vs Cameroon (0-1)

10.09.2019 Conakry Guinea vs Cote d’Ivoire (1-0)

10.09.2019 Asaba Nigeria vs Sudan (0-1)

10.09.2019 Bamako Mali vs Morocco (1-1)

The final tournament will take place in November.
