Football is not just about running as Vandenbroeck urges local guns to enjoy

Chipolopolo Boys coach Sven Vandenbroeck is down to work as he took charge of a locally assembled Chipolopolo side at Lusaka’s Woodlands Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The Belgian who spent about an hour in the centre circle just changing a variety of drills barked orders to the local lads.

After one player made a mistake, the Belgian was heard emphasing to the players to concentrate more.

“Football is not about just running but use ur (as he pointed to his head),” the Belgian was screaming as he encouraged the players to enjoy the drills.

Meanwhile it was a full house at Woodlands Stadium as all 23 players called were in attendance including the injured Benson Sakala who watched from the sidelines.

Zambia will face Namibia and Guinea Bissau in the Cameroon 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

all the best ba coach. September is around the corner. we need to qualify to afcon despite starting on a bad note. Zambia has capacity to beat Namibia. we just need mental strength and good tactics that has been lacking of late.

The coach should not waste his time on these lads. Chipolopolo has enough quality in diaspora. Pliz let this coach know that these local guyz are bunch of failures. No deserve to put on chipolopolo. Please we want professionals only. Local boys are confused they have been failing at clubs and junior levels.. And some they failed recently with the senior team. All players in our league who are over 30 you should not entertain them they are rotten. This is what has been happenning before some local coaches dropped young talented player who are playing in competetive leagues and pick some players who are 40. Pliz coach you have the right to ask the age of the players.. You picked a player who is of the same age with kelvin kaindu and numba numwamba..

Wow….!!!! talk about berating your fellow country men. Do you honestly believe we have 23 active players in the diaspora who we can call on?? and that is players in all positions?? We only even have one goal keeper of note in the diaspora to talk about…..wow!!!!

Its a good thing we can’t all be coaches otherwise!!!!!!…….

Our new team should be built around the under20 that reached the QF at the world cup. Players like Patson Daka, Edward Chilufya, Fashion Sakala and Mwepu. Bo more no less
