FAZ women’s league :Give us trained referees- Zesco ladies coach tells FAZ
Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) Women’s League Copperbelt Region log leaders Zesco United Women Football Club head Coach William Zulu described his team’s Nil-Nil draw with Indeni Roses as disappointing.
Zulu was also not happy with the Officiating after Happy Pinto was denied a goal after the referee’s consultation with the 4th Official which led to the goal being ruled out.
Speaking in a Post-match interview with the ZamFoot Crew, Zulu called on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to be making sure they assign well-trained referees especially Officiating a high profile game like Zesco against Indeni.
“If at all FAZ can bring qualified referees then that way we can see our women football going forward. They are bringing those referees who are learning. That was a high profile game we expected qualified referees to come and officiate the game so am very much disappointed with the match officials,” Zulu said.
However, he was happy with the way his girls played. He believes that played according to his instructions.
“My players played well according to instructions, the only thing that demoralised us was the referee, the match officials were not all that fair. That was the Challenge we had,” Zulu told the ZamFoot Crew.
He called on his charges not to be complacent but instead work hard and tasked them to make sure they don’t slip up by winning all the remaining matches if they are to be crowned champions as anything can happen.
“The league is still open because we are ahead with only 3 points so things can turn up or down so we just have to be focused and work hard in the remaining games,” he said.
Zesco’s next assignment is an away fixture in Chililabombwe against Konkola Queens before hosting Moba Queens and later an away date with Kitwe Girls.
