FAZ WARNS MEMBERS FROM ASSOCIATING WITH BANNED OFFICIALS

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has warned members against associating with banned officials as it is in contravention of the Constitution.

FAZ has noted with concern that some members have been freely mingling and entertaining officials who are serving bans.

According to the FAZ Constitution members are prohibited from entertaining or associating with banned officials.
Article 13 (h) of the FAZ Constitution states, “The Members of FAZ have the following obligations: Not to maintain any relations of a sporting nature with entities that are not recognized or with Members that have been suspended or expelled.”

Members are encouraged to abide by FAZ Statutes that provide all the guidelines in terms of Members’ Obligations.

Clubs that deal with banned officials in contravention of the constitution may face sanctions as provided for in the FAZ Constitution in Article 14. Banned officials are not allowed to participate in any football activity which includes attending football matches or convening meetings with members.

FAZ also wishes to update the membership on the on-going provincial administrators’ workshops that have been hugely successful. Members are encouraged to attend the workshops that will have to up-skill the administrators in the management of the game.

The workshops are also being used as a platform for provincial delegates to adopt their constitutions and also select delegates to the February 1, 2020, Extraordinary General Meeting.

Reports coming from Zambia indicate that former Uganda Cranes and Zamalek manager Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is among a three-man shortlist for the Zambia national team head coach position.

After 12 games in charge of Zamalek, winning seven games, losing four games, and drawing just one game, the former Uganda Cranes head coach was sacked after a series of poor results.

The Serbian also led the Whites their second consecutive Egypt Cup trophy when they beat Pyramids FC in the final.

With one month after being without a job the former Orlando Pirates manager is reportedly close to landing the Zambia national team job.

According to SuperSport TV reporter Usher Komugisha, Micho is among the top three candidates set to be chosen for the vacant job.

The other candidates include former Al-Ittihad Tripoli manager Ivan Minnaert and former Portuguese international Abel Xavier.

This position has been vacant since the departure of Belgian national Sven Vandenbroeck back in February 2019.

Vandenbroeck resigned after leading Zambia to one win, drawing one and losing two in the four games he coached them.

Hi Pungwa thanks for the info. This would be great if Micho got the job. He is a very good Coach. He did well especially with the Uganda Cranes. I like his attacking football. FAZ should just give him a good local Coach who can assist him,

    Lets GO!!
