FAZ pocket K1 Million from Guinea Bissau game
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has posted a K1, 065, 000 profit from the October 10 home match against Guinea Bissau at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Vice President Rix Mweemba told a media briefing that the association made a gross profit from sales of K1, 573, 570.
Mweemba explained that an additional K133, 900 was made from perimeter advertising.
He said that expenses on the game amounted to K644, 000.
Mweemba said that out of the 49, 954 total capacity there 36, 324 tickets that were sold.
He also noted the security lapses that led to some disorder around fans with K20 tickets that sat where they were not supposed to sit.
He however thanked the army of fans that turned up to cheer the Chipolopolo boys during the home match.
“We would like to than supporters that gave support to the team, especially His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu who was at the stadium,” he said.[FAZ]
