Zanaco and Under 20 Zambia national team Striker Fashion Sakala has successfully completed his 2 weeks trials with Spartak Moscow B.
Fashion returned to Zambia on monday from Cyprus where he was attending his trials and has since joined his teammates in camp ahead of caf champions league match on Saturday.
The teenagae striker impressed at the Russian club.
The ZamFoot Crew understands that there’s an offer for the player to sign a 4 year deal but it is unclear if it will come to pass.
Fashion is one of the hottest teen strikers in Zambia and has been earmarked as Zambia’s symbol of present and future alongside Patson Daka, Conlyde Luchanga and Joseph Phiri.
The former Nchanga Rangers striker is likely to be named in the match day squad for Zanaco.
Zanaco face APR of Rwanda in CAF Champions League of the first round first leg to be played at Nkoloma stadium on Saturday, 11th February, 2017 15:00hrs local time.
All the best young man keep working hard and you will succeed.
Is this a B side of the Spartak Moscow Giants ?
I believe it is, investing for the eventual A team…and a good thing. Eto equally started off in Spain I believe with a B side of a mid table level team…if Sakala wants it so badly this would be his chance…Russia has a quota of three foreign players per match and Spartak Moscow has good competition…he will learn a lot from there and if is as good as they say he is, he will be out of there in no time…
…and he does look under 20 !
LOL…for sure he does! Kekekekekeke
Officially it is called Spartak Moscow-2 and plays in the second tier league. However, the player designation is transparent: the players are eligible to play for the main team, which currently tops the Russian Premier League. Thus, he may be promoted to main team at any moment, if the head coach Massimo Carrera decides do so.
However, nothing is certain until medicals. There is already an example with Nigerian Godwin Obaje, who was dropped after medicals.
@ Pungwa and Luapula Bize….. If age is such a bother to u, why not get in touch with his mother. Just like u, its only yo mother who knows the minute, day, month, year you were conceived!!!!
Удачи в Спартаке!
rumor has it dat he has signed with dis club pliz confirm
Off topic, Buildcon have employed some Spanish coach with uefa pro licence. This is probably the most qualified coach that we have ever hosted on our soil. Following Zesco’s cue, Mighty Mufulira wanderers and City club, we now have more qualified coaches, even capable of coaching our national team. with the increasing numbers of foreign players coming into our league, we are in for some great football in the coming season.
Cletus Chama quits Ittihad
FORMER Zesco United midfielder Cletus Chama has terminated his contract with Egyptian side Al Ittihad Alexandria following contractual disputes.
Chama moved to Ittihad in a deal worth US$50,000 and so far US$25,000 has been paid to the player’s agent based in Canada.
He signed a three and half year contract last November.
“It is basically saying that Chama terminated his contract from his side although the club paid all his salary according to the agreed contract,” a message translated from Arabic on the club’s website read.
Chama had surrendered his travel document to club officials but encountered problems to have his passport back when disagreements in his contract started to emerge.
Chama, whose contract at the Alexandria-based side came into effect on February 1 this year when he became a free agent after the expiry of his deal at Zesco, was helped to retrieve his passport by Zambian embassy staff in Cairo.
With the passport in possession of Ittihad officials, Chama could not fly from his base to Cairo and had to travel by road to meet embassy officials, a source familiar with the happenings said.
Chama was not even listed in the Ittihad squad for yesterday’s Egypt Cup round of 16 home match against Enppi.
He was instrumental in leading Zesco to the CAF Champions League semi-finals last year and scored four times.
Meanwhile, skipper Ziyo Tembo is confident Zanaco will overcome Rwanda Patriotic Army (APR) in Saturday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Tembo said the players have prepared adequately for the Rwandans.
“We are ready for them,” said Tembo in an interview in Lusaka on Tuesday.
He said the team will not struggle despite the departure of several key players.
Zanaco have lost seven players among them defenders Aaron Katebe and Fackson Kapumbu, midfielders Roderick Kabwe, Isaac Chansa and Salulani Phiri, strikers Aubrey Funga and Davy Daka.
Kabwe and Funga have joined South Africa Premiership Soccer League side Ajax Cape Town, Salulani has signed for another South African side Polokwane City, Katebe trekked to Nkana while Kapumbu and Daka are both at Zesco United.
And Ghanaian forward Attram Kwame is also upbeat the Bankers will overcome APR.
APR are seasoned campaigners in the Champions League.
The Rwandans eliminated Green Buffaloes 3-2 on aggregate in the 2005 Confederation Cup first round.
Meanwhile, Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba says the Bankers will maximise home ground advantage when they host APR, ROBINSON KUNDA reports.
Numba said in Lusaka yesterday that they will target shaking the net as many times as possible to render next weekend’s return leg a
Pungwa thanks for doing Zamfoot a favour. they can’t even update us on any dvpt with regards to Zanaco’s champions league game.
why do our players join this team
Slave contracts if you ask me…the days of Morden and Bubble playing in North Africa are long gone…days of respect, not today 🙁
There must be something seriously wrong with Al Ittihad
Chama couldnt make the grade, he was average at best. If u read my previous postings i doubted his ability to make it at this club! They were looking for a prolifuc striker! i suspect they they mistook him for mbombo! kikikiki
If Fashion has clinched a contract let Zanaco release him at a modest fee. However a proviso shud b inserted in the contract to ensure Zanaco get a cut in the event of a lucrative sale to another club. West Africans clinch contracts for junior players cos they aint greedy.
