Fashion racing against Alteza and Chisamba for a starting place

Chipolopolo Boys coach Wedson Nyirenda is set to make one change from the side which started against Algeria in North Africa, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

And the ZamFoot Crew understands that Wada Wada will go for the traditional 4-4-2 formation against the Super Eagles on Saturday in a mouthwatering Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The outspoken coach is set to recall Russian based winger Fashion Sakala to the starting line-up.

The 20 year old winger cum striker returns to the side after serving his suspension.

The Chipolopolo no.10 is set to start at the expense of Zanaco’s hardworking Ernest ‘Altezza’ Mbewe.

Wada Wada is likely to go with 4-4-2

With main striker Brian ‘The Hammer’ Mwila missing his third competitive qualifier in the last four fixtures through injury, Justin ‘Sharp Shooter’ Shonga is likely to partner fit-again Patson Daka in attack.

On the other flank it will be Augustine Mulenga who is slowly becoming an assist king.

Though he failed to stamp his authority against Algeria, teenage midfielder Enock ‘Computer’ Mwepu will get the nod ahead of the experienced Chisamba Lungu.

Zesco United’s Kondwani Mtonga will be stationed in front of the back four to thwart the threat of John Mikel Obi and co.

The back line picks itself with Ziyo Tembo and Stopilla Sunzu in central defence while Fackson Kapumbu and Simon Silwimba as full backs.

Kennedy Mweene will be in goal.

Though it’s an open secret Wada Wada will start with two strikers, he is being urged to go with a three man midfield

Ideally, Zambia might be more stable with a three man midfield.

Mwepu in a free role at the top of the triangle with Chisamba and Mtonga at the base but Wada Wada has shown that he prefers a twin strike force.

ZamFoot Crew’s Chimuka Hampango is banking on the Zanaco duo to start

“I think he will still go with Algeria formation. Ernest ‘Alteza’ Mbewe starting ahead of Chisamba Lungu then Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka partnering in attack.

“This is a game which requires players with a high work rate like Ernest Mbewe and Augustine Mulenga bring. Then Fashion Sakala’s individual brilliance going forward.
.
“That’s the discipline Numba Mumamba  (Zanaco coach) brought in the Zanaco players. Augustine and Ernest have just about tye best work-rate on the flanks in the country. They drop to defend and run into attack with pace,” Chimuka concluded

  4. A Nigerian here, Just wanna say the Zambians do have some of the coolest names. Lungu, Sunzu, Mweene etc. Lovely names.

    Good luck, Super Eagles.

  5. Each time any keen observer takes the time to analyze this resurgent Chipolopolo squad it’s obvious to see that the weak link is the wing backs. Kapumbu and Silwimba. If you watched the loss to Mozambique you know Kalumbu’s frailties. If you’ve watched ZESCO & their inability to hold out a lead in Caf games, you know Silwimba’s.
They both seem one dimensional in their style of play & seem to lack concentration when it matters most. They have a general lack of BMT. Big Match Temperament. That streetwise arrogance you saw in the likes of Katongo – Isaac Chansa – Joseph Musonda – Happy Sichikolo – the late Kapambwe Mulenga – Mbesuma – Ngalo Kante and such players who are credited not for talent but sheer WILL & GRIT. That individual attitude which says “if we can’t win it the regular way, we shall STEAL it! It’s what anybody going to Nigeria and wanting to leave with 3 points need. Silwimba has a bit of that going forward, it’s his recovery that’s almost none existent. When you saw Herve Renard screaming at Nkausu none-stop on the touchline, he was demanding that. When you saw Joseph Musonda playing ahead of Nkausu Wenever the former was fit, it’s because he has the 2 things a modern wing back is credited for. 1 – mental & physical fitness to be as good offensively and defensively. 2. And ability to create goals. Kapumbu excels at dead balls, but when last did anybody remember him or Silwimba whipping in a juicy in swinger to excite our strikers? I’m not asking our wing backs to be Dani Alves or Maicon but the modern game requires a good attempt towards that standard. Check Barca’s struggles since 2 Brazilian wing backs left. So, since Silwimba and Kapumbu are the best arrows in our quiver at the moment, how can we get the best out of them?
Put the most hardworking wing forwards in front of each!!! That’s why the 2 most crucial selections in this games lineup for Chipolopolo will be Enerst Mbewe & Augustine Mulenga. The difference between 3 & 0 points for Chipolopolo is down to wether Augustine Mulenga & Enerst Mbewe start. Especially that Kondwani Mtonga’s anchors have softened in recent games, we can’t afford to expose our D- zone. Not against a Nigeria team that is not feeling very generous at this point in time. If anyone has a direct line to our coach, tell him that that’s our best play. Put decent cover in front of our 2 & 3.
CHIPOLOPOLO all the way baby! #EaglesMustFall

  6. I would rather play a 4-5-1 formation which in reality is a 4-2-3-1 formation with two holding midfielders. I would remove Shonga and replace him with Chisamba Lungu who would partner with Mtonga in the holding role behind Mulenga, Mwepu and Fashion Sakala. Patson Daka would be the sole Striker. This formation is what suits a counter attacking style whic we are likely to use. You can’t play a 4-4-2 formation away. It is not wise.

  7. Well put @Sobongo, indeed the difference between 3 and 0 points is whether Ernest Mbewe or Augustine Mulenga start this game if the coach decides otherwise, Victor Moses and Iwobi will have a Christmas party on our full backs. When we have the ball we should not try to go through the middle as Nigeria have a very strong midfield of Onazi,Ndidi and Mikel hence we should always play in the flanks because Nigeria also have very slow full backs in Echejile and co.
