Fans urge Nyirenda to recall Sate Sate to Chipolopolo

The Chipolopolo faithful are urging Zambia coach Wedson ‘Wada Wada’ Nyirenda to recall Nkana striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba back into the squad.

Last week the embattled Nyirenda named a 30 man squad comprising of local players for the four nations tournament which will be hosted at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on 22nd -25th March, 2018 but Sate Sate’s name was missing.

Following the ‘Landlord’s performance in the the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final victory over Zesco United on Saturday there has been social media frenzy about his inclusion into Nyirenda’ s provisional squad.

Kalampa’s local hero scored a brace and was involved in the other two goals as Nkana beat Zesco in a 7 goal thriller.

Nyirenda is aware of Sate Sara’s prowess in front of goal as the two men worked together prior to the CHAN tournament late last year.

Despite being part of the provisional CHAN squad, Sate Sate was dropped and didn’t make the final squad to Morocco.

That decision left many fans unimpressed.

Sate Sara’s performance earned him a man of the match award

Concidently Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi has now been elevated to Chipolopolo assistant role.

“We hope Chambeshi will talk to his boss [Wada] about the Landlord,” one fan wrote.

While Sate Sate has been omitted, Nyirenda has named Buildcon duo Brian Mwila and Chanda Mushili in the squad.

Alex Ng’onga and Lazarous Kambole of Power Dynamos and Zesco United are the other two.

The quartet are likely to be joined by Fashion Sakala and Justin Shonga from Russia and South Africa respectively.

Patson Daka is a doubt as he is out injured.

Zambia will face Zimbabwe in the second of the double header on 22nd March at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium while Angola and South Africa will lock horns in other semi final.

  1. Being forced to recall a player and listening from the fans voice, requires humility on part of the coach. But if our loved “sate sate” is not in coaches game plan, then it is safe for “sate sate “to concentrate on his role to the club.

  2. What of Chally Musonda Jr. That little man and his thick non patriotic parents should just throw the towel in and let him play for Zambia. He has no chance to play for Belgium.
