Emmanuel Mayuka – Fallen from Grace but given a second chance

It’s a story of a boy who left many Zambians filled with hope, a boy who successfully conquered Africa. He left the whole of the continent in awe After putting up an excellent performance at the 2012 Africa cup of nations.

It was his decline which left many disappointed after stints in Israel, Switzerland, England, France and Egypt but he has been given a second chance to rekindle his seemingly dying career and his name is Emmanuel Mayuka.

Mayuka played his first preseason game for Green Buffaloes against Kansanshi Dynamos in Kafue, he was a busybody in that match even though he did not score any goal.

Green Buffaloes has continued to show faith in Mayuka he will be competing with Friday Samu for a place in starting eleven, the club has released Chipili Mungule who has joined National Assembly, George Ngoma is training with Nkwazi and Emmanuel Phiri joined Kansanshi Dynamos.

In 2012 English Premier League side Southampton signed after impressing at the Africa Cup of nations.

The 28 year old will be playing his first full competitive season since he left Egyptian side Zamaleck in 2017, he later joined Israeli Hapoel Ra’anana were he only managed to play 5 games for the club.

It will be a confidence booster if the 2012 AFCON Golden shoe winner scores at least twice in the opening 7 games, this will give him the steam and thirst for more goal going forward the season.

Green Buffaloes will start their season away in Kitwe were they will be playing Nkana FC.

Respect goes to Green Bufallos. Hope Mayuka behave like Felix Katongo, get a respectable job and lead a decent life.
The other day I read Adrian Chama going to Zesco, I was sad, at his age is time he should have got a job as a soldier.

Those who come to the aid of others should be commended coz such is the prime purpose of life- to support those that might be in need. My belief is that when you set the bar so high, you also set a your own trap of failure for everything you do people shall judge you against the very bar that you had set. There are players who came on the scene and vanished without living any mark, and the world/ country have forgotten about them. However, people like Mayuka will forever be tormented for not leaving up to what now people consider a requirement for him. But the reality is that some ‘stars’ where not meant to last long. My advise to Mayuka is for him to soldier- on, come what may. You`ve already made us proud! You might have already done your part! yours now is to inspire others by being part of the game. All the best!
