Emmanuel Banda set to miss Cosafa
Zambia Under-20 midfielder Emmanuel ‘The Maestro’ Banda will have to wait for his international debut.
The former Edusport and Nchanga Rangers midfielder left the country two days ago and headed to Europe.
“It seems like the boy is set to sign for another club in Europe and that has caught Wada (Wedson Nyirenda) unaware as he was made to believe that he was going to be available for Cosafa,” a ZamFoot Crew source revealed.
“If he wasn’t moving, then his club in Portugal would have preferred him to be playing against Cosafa.
After the Under-20 AFCON, the Junior Chipolopolo jersey.12 and Denmark based Kenneth Kalunga stayed behind as there teams preferred them to be in Zambia camp with the under-20 rather than playing fourth tier football.
And the ZamFoot Crew understands that one of the members of the ‘Dream Team’ which reached the quarter finals of the World Cup in Korea is set to sign for a professional contract.
Meanwhile a locally based Chipolopolo Boys have regrouped ahead of this weekend’s Cosafa Cup quarter final against Botswana in South Africa.
