Under-20 Africa Cup of nations winning midfielder Emmanuel Banda opened his KV Oostende goal scoring account on Friday.

The former Nchanga Rangers maestro scored in Oostende’s 3-1 win over Waasland-Beveren.

Banda got a rare start playing out on the right wing .

Zimbabwe talisman Knowledge Musona opened the scoring 15 minutes into the match to give Oostende the lead.

The Zimbabwean international then turned provider in the 52nd minute chesting down a beautiful cross from the left wing before laying it off for Banda who hit the ball so swiftly scoring a hard low drive to double his teams lead.

Isaac Kiese Thelin pulled one back for Beveren from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute but Zinho Gano restored the two goal cushion in added time as Oostende won the match 3-1 and move to 11th on the log with 22 points.

Banda played the first 75 minutes and was replaced by Michiel Konckheere.

The 20 year old was making his third start in six appearances since he moved to Belgium.

He also played a game in the UEFA Europa League.

He earned his move to Belgium  from Portugal after he helped the Zambia U20 national team to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations title before helping them to a decent quarter final finish at the World Cup later in the year.

The attacking midfielder made his national team bow in Zambia’s 1 – 0 win away in Algeria.
