Dream debut excites Portuguese based Kenneth Kalunga

Fans of the reigning World footballer of the year Cristiano Ronaldo were yesterday, Sunday, September 16th celebrating the fact that after exactly 4 games and 28 shots, The Juventus forward managed to open his Juventus goal account in Serie A leading the old lady to a 2-1 win over Sassuolo. Back in his country Zambian winger Kenneth Kalunga was making a mark of his own.

The former Zambia U20 national team winger made his competitive debut for his new Club Futebol União de Lamas FF in the AF Aveiro Campeonato de Elite. Kalunga stole the show and netted a brace on the day.

Kalunga expressed happiness at the fact that his goals were able to help the team win the match and shoot to the summit.

“I feel really good. It wasn’t an easy game, especially being away but I’m glad I managed to score and assist because it helped the team win the game,” Kalunga told Zambianfootball.co.zm (Zamfoot) in an exclusive interview from his base in Portugal.

The Gomes product described the atmosphere as great and said his team worked hard for the victory.

“It was amazing to make my competitive debut. The atmosphere was great and the team worked very hard for the victory,” he said.

THE MATCH
Kalunga started the match for the first time in União de Lamas FF colours in the opening game of the AF Aveiro Campeonato de Elite against Mecieirense . He however took no time settling as he put the visitors in the lead just 13 minutes into the match.

Kalunga was on fire as he completed his brace a minute before half time to put Lamas in control of the match.

Lamas continued their dominace in the second stanza of the encounter. Kalunga then turned provider eighteen minutes from time as he set up Jonatas Santos for Lamas third goal of the match and the final nail in Mecieirense’s coffin, Three nil the match ended.

The win takes União de Lamas FF to the summit of the table while the two goals take Kalunga to the summit of the top goalscorers chart.

  1. What level is this?? I hope zamfoot you not wasting time reporting third or fourth tier football..the fact that you can’t say makes me think is even non league football!

  2. The league doesnot matter what matters is the talent the player have. Afcon 2012 yaya was reduced from a headmaster to a temporal by nathan sinkala. And for your own information emmanuel banda who is now in belgium played for a lower league in portugal and he was snatched by a big club in belgium. Kalunga should play to market himself. National team coach should also call up kalunga for assessment. This is the talent we are desperately in need of.

  3. União de Lamas currently plays in the AF Aveiro – 1ª Divisão which is the fifth tier of Portuguese football. The club was founded in 1932 and they play their home matches at the Comendador Henrique Amorim in Santa Maria de Lamas.[1]
